The KMU Nursing Training 2025 opened with an impactful inaugural ceremony graced by top tier healthcare leaders and educators. As the third phase in a sustained strategy to enhance the nursing workforce in KP, The training represents a convergence of global best practices with local healthcare dynamics. The collaboration between KMU, the KP Health Department, and same RPS UK reflects a shared vision of building a resilient and skilled nursing cadre capable of leading in diverse clinical environments.


High Profile Inauguration and Strategic Commitments

Syed Adeel Shah, Secretary of Health KP, Presided over the event as the chief guest and delivered a powerful address emphasizing that “nursing is the cornerstone of the healthcare system.” He reaffirmed the government commitment to empowering nurses by promising infrastructural enhancements, Including residential facilities for nursing staff. The ceremony also featured distinguished addresses by Dr. Ijaz Hussain of SAME RPS UK Prof. Dr. Rubina Nazli, Pro Vice Chancellor of KMU, and Ms. Akhtar Bano, Director of Nursing, KP each underscoring the urgent need for continuous professional development in nursing.

In March 2025, KMU’s Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences formalized a game changing Memorandum of Understanding with Lady Reading Hospital. This move enhances clinical pharmacy training in Peshawar, Providing students with critical hands on experience.


Clinical Pharmacy Training Begins in Peshawar

Khyber Medical University KMU has taken an important step to improve pharmacy education by starting clinical training for students in Peshawar. This new agreement was signed by Prof Dr, Sami Siraj, Director of KMU Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Dr. Azizullah, Pharmacy Manager at Lady Reading Hospital.The goal of this partnership is to give pharmacy students real, hands on experience in hospitals. Through this training, Students will learn how to prepare and give medicines safely, Calculate proper dosages, use computer systems for doctor orders, and review medication records to avoid harmful drug interactions,This practical training will help students understand their role better and get ready for real life responsibilities in hospitals. It will also improve patient safety, ensure accurate medicine.
